In 2015, Michel Ange moved back to her small village called in Haiti, trained eight women in bead-work techniques, and launched her business, Atizan Lakay. There is a phrase in Haiti that means a lot to Michel Ange — "Si yonn pa la, lot de yo pa ka sevi,” which means “If you don't have one, the other two cannot function.” This phrase is known within Haiti to describe the three rocks needed to hold the big pot when cooking food in the countryside. For Michel Ange this phrase represents the importance of everyone working together in her business, Atizan Lakay. To function well, she must have her team, the support of Haiti Design Co, and their customers. All three work together to make the vision come to life.
